The Impressionnists Race

The Impressionnists Race (general information)

Every year on May 1st, the Rowing Club of Port Marly (RCPM) organizes a race on a course of 21 km on the Seine River. This race is listed as long distance races according to the rules the FFA (French Rowing Federation).

The Impressionists Race takes place on the Seine River in the heart of Impressionist Country and benefits from a closure of the river to freight traffic on this bank holiday.

The race consists of two separate tests :

  • 21 km loop in long boats 4s and 8s
  • sculling marathon (42 km = 2 loops of 21 km)

The race is open to all experienced rowers, from adult recreational rowers to competitive rowers in veteran, senior, junior (15-18) categories. Crews can be male, female or mixed. Clubs can engage crews of all types in 4s and 8s.

Since 2012, on the occasion of its 10th edition, the race takes place on a course located between Chatou and Maisons Laffitte, which places it in the heart of the Impressionist Country.

 

After the race all participants are invited for a “vin d’honneur” (celebratory drink) at the club and a meal is served subject to reservation (limited to first 150 registred).

The Rowing Club of Port Marly hopes to welcome many of you to share this friendly sporting occasion.
